Lesson objectives:
-By the end of the lesson,students will be able to;
1.name three healthy habits related to nutrition, exercise and rest for the healthy living,
2.classify healthy food and unhealthy food with two examples,
3. Show simple steps of washing hands at the end of the lesson.
Lesson Introduction(5 Minutes)
-Begin the lesson by playing a lively song or movement activity to energize the learners.Encourage students to move along with the rhythm of song.Then ask learners if doing such activities is good for them or not..After this, teacher will introduce the topic as healthy living.
Lesson Development(35 min)
-Information input(5 minutes)
-Teacher will define what is healthy living in simple words. Along with the definition teacher will show some pictures that can be of healthy habits and unhealthy habits.
-Powerpoint presentation on healthy living (Substitution model)
Activity 1(10 minutes)
Instruction: the class will be divided into a small group of four members to carry out the activity.
Basically, they will be given a worksheet that contains varieties of pictures to segregate healthy and unhealthy living to connect their learning to real world situations.
Activity 2 ( 20 minutes)
-Teacher will show a video on washing hands (https://youtu.be/_6j5oRDy5bM?feature=shared)
-Then the teacher will take learners to the nearby tap and demonstrate hand-washing steps to the students
-The learners will follow the teacher.
- Ask the learners to volunteer to demonstrate hand washing steps.
Follow up activities
-students will share their experiences and how they will imply their day to day life in a group.
Lesson closure (5 Minutes)
Teacher will summarize the topic.
The teacher will share the importance of following healthy living.
